Ash Ami Baking Company

Hi, I am Chrystil George-Finisterre, the owner and baker of the Ash Ami Baking Company. I was born in St. Lucia and I have lived in Brooklyn since 2000. I am a stay at home mom and a self and family taught baker. My Brooklynites daughters, Layla Aishatou and Aminata Thelma, are the moniker for the bakery. My passion for the baking came in 2020, when I wanted to put my own flare on the traditional St. Lucian Black Cake. This was the beginning of my appetite to learn all that I could about balancing ingredients, enhancing flavors, and modifying time-tested recipes, making them Caribbean inspired confectioneries.
